Details: The Communist Party of Suriname-Marxist/Leninist (KPS-ml), LOSON’s counterpart in Suriname, joined other parties to form the Democratic People's Front and participated in elections.

Significance: The electoral participation led to ideological fractures within LOSON, as members accused the KPS-ml of misusing funds allocated for projects.
